| Line in the harbour book | Why Jowan writes it | How long Jowan keeps it |
|---|---|---|
| Nickname | Your name on the quay | Up to the day you delete it |
| Email address | Spotting your account when you come back in | Up to the day you delete it |
| Password hash | Checking your password without the office ever seeing it | Up to the day you delete it |
| Sign-up date | Replies to messages and keeping the quay orderly | Up to the day you delete it |
Nothing else is entered. The harbour office never asks your real name, your address, your date of birth, a phone number or any payment detail, since no harbour dues are ever charged. Your password is filed only as a one-way hash. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (keeping the account you asked us for). Deleting your account strikes the whole entry out at once, with the button on your account page.
| Line in the harbour book | What it does aboard | How long Jowan keeps it |
|---|---|---|
| Coin crate, level, missions and settings | Taking up where the last tide left you | Until someone clears this browser’s data |
| Age confirmation | Not asking you again at each page | Until someone clears this browser’s data |
| Cookie choice | Keeping your consent answer to hand | Until someone clears this browser’s data |
None of this leaves your browser; the harbour office never receives it.
On “Accept all”, Google Analytics and Google Ads tags log visits and whether an advert brought someone to the water, for example a first spin. Google receives your IP address, device information and those events. On “Essential only”, those tags sit in consent mode, setting no cookies and using no advertising identifiers. Lawful basis: consent.
Our host holds ordinary request logs for security, and only for a short spell. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
You may ask to access, correct or erase your data, restrict it, object to its processing, or withdraw consent, whenever you choose. Deleting your account from the account page wipes the account data on the spot; clearing this site’s data in your browser takes the remainder. Any complaint can be raised with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Only adults of 18 and over come down the quay steps at Pilchard Quay. Every water is played with virtual coins of no monetary value, and those coins are never bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged. The harbour office keeps no coin counter and no payment page, puts up no prize of real-world value, and success here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
